Fun with Dogs!

I have this very fun, new thing for my daily walk dogs:

A pool!

If you are not local then you might not know how terribly hot this summer has been, especially the last couple of weeks but here in Lexington, Kentucky it has been in the mid-nineties all week which is just hard as anything on the poor dogs especially dogs who need their midday exercise.  What an outstanding solution Hugo’s Mom has offered us!

To my knowledge, this was Ava’s first time in a swimming pool.  Notice that I am gently tossing the tennis ball just a few feet from the steps and encouraging her to come back to the steps with the ball.  The first time she needed a bit of physical guidance and then a few repetitions with a second tennis ball as a lure.  This first experience I absolutely wanted to be a positive one for Ava and I really wanted her to completely understand that the only way she could safely exit the pool was via the steps
