Sites I Read

This is intended to be an everexanding and morphing list of sites/blogs/etc. I read to keep up to date on all things dog.

Susan Garrett’s blog:  Susan Garrett is a preeminent dog agilty trainer and handler who is also a truly exceptional human being.  I had, sadly, stopped paying much attention to her teachings when I got out of serious dog agility a few years ago despite the fact that I often send clients her links on creating a motivating toy and the perfect recall account.  After all, all three of my dogs love to tug and all have solid recalls.  But, there is so much more that Susan has to teach me!

Shaping Chaos: a great blog about one guy handling four Border Collies.  I read every new post with great interest and am often prompted to comment.

Everything Pets: nice blog written by a pet sitter for anyone and everyone with tips about things like hiking with your dog(s).

Dear Labby: Blog by a pet sitter for other pet sitters (but you can read it too!)

Dogster’s Vet Blog

Dogster’s For the love of the dog blog

Dogster’s Good Dog Blog

Dogstar Daily

One Little Did: written by Allison who is currently working for Best Friends Animal Society about day to day life at the sanctuary.

The Other End of the Leash: Author, Patrica McConnell’s blog.

Debbie Jacob’s Fearful Dog Blog

Deborah Flick’s blog about her life with Sadie.

Champion of my Heart by Roxanne Hawn

Nancy Freeman-Smith’s Main Pets blog

Fun with Dogs
by Creature Comforts
Since 1992, through my pet sitting business Creature Comforts, I have been providing pet care solutions tailored to individual animal needs in Lexington, Kentucky including vacation care, daily dog exercise options and specialized care for flighted parrots.

My emphasis is on using positive reinforcement and non-corrective based techniques to solve the basic problems people have with their dogs. Or rather, the problems dogs have with their people ;-)
